Dear Brothers and sisters in Christ,
Better Way Foundation, a self supporting medical missionary group here at Ilocos Norte, committed and dedicated to serve God's people in any aspect that we can allow these people to tune in their hearts with their Saviour. We have been inspired with the work of our media volunteers of HCBN who has put up a local low power FM radio station in their city, the concept was pretty simple but you will be needing a consecrated heart and an additional faith to put up the project. After a couple of weeks of that meeting with the HCBN volunteers, our Lord has open and poured His heaven's choicest blessings, that we can buy the materials and transmitter for that radio station to be put up here in Laoag City.
This FM radio station will be operating 24 hours, 7 days a week, within a radius between 25km-50km, and the location will be in Laoag City, so strategically it can reach even to the different municipalities inside the province. This radio station is a non profit and will be playing plainly religious and heavenly music, plus... included in the program is your daily devotions that will give you strength for the day.
satan has not been so cooperative with the project, and his trying every thing to hinder the project, but the Mighty Conqueror is with us, and He will always be with us. Currently, the tower is in its completion stage, permits have been submitted in a few more weeks God's messages thru music will be aired and Hallelujahs and Praises will be sounded forth....Third angels messages will be soon heralded and will be put in its right position. I say Praise the Lord, may His name always be lifted up, all Glory and Majesty are His. Glory to God.
We truly appreciate the good and harmonious working between the medical missionary workers and the media ministry team of HCBN.

Missionaries Deployed
A very special Sabbath fellowship happened last June 19, 2010 in the training center of the medical missionaries in Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte. It was one of a warm kind of fellowship with the churches around the district and another visiting district of the province of Ilocos Norte, another medical missionary volunteer of HCBN (His Coming Broadcasting Network) who travel all the way from Iloilo province just to extend his services in making footage of the work that is happening at this part of the country, and the leaders/director of our local mission who came to serve and give messages for the missionaries, God has led His people up in the mountain that we may be able to witness His love and and to hear more of His Commissioning message for us.
On that Sabbath day, 24 medical missionaries was able to finish the 6months program of the school, and it was just amazing how the Holy Spirit gave them an impression to take heed the calling to different open mission fields. Nineteen of them have decided to be sent along side with the promise that surely I AM with you alway even to the end of the earth (Matt.28:20)
One quotation from the book Counsels on Health p. 524 says " Medical missionary work is in no case to be divorced from the gospel ministry. The Lord has specified that the two shall be as closely connected as the arm as with the body. Without this union neither part of the work is complete."
The major needs for gospel medical missionaries were little by little being filled by this graduates. From the territory of Northern Luzon, down to the islands of central Philippines, and further to the Mindanao island in the south they were called to render their service. Six of our missionaries were hired by the ASI group, in which they will be doing visitations, bible studies, helping the brethren do church programs, do health lectures, and give treatments to those individuals who will be needing a physical healing which we believe on the next part will open ways for that individual to know Christ as his personal Friend and soon coming Saviour.
As of now, from the time that they have been in the field, we have been receiving calls from our missionaries, and we are just so blessed to hear that God has been pouring HIS Mighty Holy Spirit in their fields because of the fact that the method of Christ was surely an effective means of bringing this people to the feet of our Saviour.
Some of our missionaries who just came from their mission fields were immediately tap to help in the on going crusade, while some were called to revive the church that they were assigned, while some were called to nurture newly baptize members of our denomination, and still some were called to help pioneer the project in Magallanes, Cavite, where God has given our group another extension of the program, in this wide variety of programs that our medical missionaries are participating, we have seen that the lessons, the tears, the struggles, the pain they have experience in the school of trial are now bearing fruits, truly the school here in Nueva Era is one of the school of Christ here on earth.
We've seen how God is using mightily His humble instruments who has to unlearn a lot of the wisdom of this world and be a learner of Christ, and yet here at our outpost we still receive calls requesting to us to send more medical missionaries in another field that they want to open, local mission is asking 2 more volunteer to be send in the Batanes group of island and that is a part of the northernmost tip islands from the main land Luzon, I can say truly and very truly the harvest is ready, its ripe and plenteous, but where are the laborers? Let us join hands with Christ as we pray that God will send more laborers in the great harvest field.
Our next batch of training will happen on July 12, 2010, if you are reading this article and you feel the need of Christ and calling for laborers to take heed of this work that was entrusted to man, will you make yourself available? Aside from our 6months training, we will be having an on going simultaneous 1month training in different islands and I will be posting our schedules, so if you are near to this fields you can avail of our training. God bless you all and more power.

Witnessing
One day, a man rode a jeepney going to the city. On that jeepney, Andrea was singing hymns about God’s love and grace to humanity. The man took out his cell phone, typed a message to the number he got from the back of the magazine called Adventist World which was distributed by another young lady when he rode the bus bound for manila. The text message said, “Brother, I am currently riding on the jeepney named Three Angel’s Message listening to the heavenly music”.
God works in mysterious ways! Through literature, through music, God works. Testimonies Volume 6 says, “We have no time to lose. The end is near. The passage from place to place to spread the truth will soon be hedged with danger on the right hand and on the left… There is danger in delay. That soul whom you might have found, that soul to whom you might have opened the Scriptures, passes beyond your reach. Satan has prepared some net for his feet, and tomorrow he may be working out the plans of the archenemy of God. Why delay one day? Why not go to work at once?

Medical Missionaries: WANTED in the Bus!
Whenever there is someone or a group who will go down the hill for Manila or any opportunity to ride the bus, there is always a challenge: to speak the truth---either gospel or health. Nervous, but challenge, someone will prepare a short outline.
the first (1st) week of the month of March, 4 Medical Missionaries were set to go to Manila on different dates. Dianne* was prepared to stand on the bus isle for the first (1st) trip and Karla* for the trip that followed. When asked about the experience, one similar phase took place, they were aware of the urging of the Holy Ghost. But not both are granted with same result. Dianne was able to share about the frontal lobe as the medium of our communication with the Lord, what damages it and how to improve it. Her companion kept still on her seat praying. After an appeal and a prayer, she gave away religious tracks with a contact number. Karla, on the next trip, together with Babylyn* were burdened to share. But due to unfavorable circumstances, they weren’t able to stand on the isle instead gave away tracks.
God has a thousand ways to work in people’s heart in different instance. We can relate Karla’s experience with the account of Paul and Silas found in Acts 16: 6 and 7, “…and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia. (7)…but the spirit suffered them not”. At the same time always ready to speak when God might order them to do so. Karla on the bus terminal, before traveling back to Ilocos Norte, was impressed by the Holy Ghost to do personal ministry instead of standing in the audience of many. Conversing with an old man, reading to him the Living Word, giving him the book Desire of Ages by Ellen G. White and opening the gates of Heaven through prayer to bless that old man were the tasks the Lord wanted her to do.
Great Controversy page 343 says, “Each has his part to act”, some to speak in audience, some personal ministry. Even the simple act of handling to others the Adventist World magazine has a part in leading souls to Christ. What important is to keep in mind the counsel found in Christ’s Object Lesson page 338,39, “Wherever we are, we should watch for opportunities of speaking to others of the Savior. This is the very highest work in which we can empty the talent of speech”.

One of the Best Kinds of Employment

“Working the soil is one of the best kinds of employment, calling the muscles into action and resting the mind. Study in agricultural lines should be the A, B, and C of the education given in our schools. This is the very first work that should be entered upon. Our schools should not depend upon imported produce, for grain and vegetables, and the fruits so essential to health.” 6T 179.1“It is God's plan that agriculture shall be connected with the work of our sanitariums and schools. Our youth need the education to be gained from this line of work. It is well, and more than well,--it is essential,--that efforts be made to carry out the Lord's plan in this respect.” {8T 227.3}
It is indeed the Lord’s plan that the agriculture be a part of our schools. For the past years since the school started, the agriculture has also been developing. The Foundation started with just simple backyard gardens along with the fruit trees all around the area. Students who were enrolled in the trainings were given a practical education in agriculture as well as in other manual labors as based on Counsels to Parents, Teachers and Students page 311
"Students should be given a practical education in agriculture. This will be of inestimable value to many in their future work. The training to be obtained in felling trees and in tilling the soil, as well as in literary lines, is the education that our youth should seek to obtain.”
Every day in the morning, the staff together with the students would be seen in the field pulling out weeds, clearing the plots, tilling the soil, watering the plants, and planting vegetables. It is such a joy to take part in the Lord has blessed. Many lessons were learned each day as the students and staffs work in the field. Every moment is a privilege to talk about God’s written lessons in plants and in the soil.
About this time the Foundation has over __hectares of land filled with vegetables and some fruit trees. “Agriculture will open resources for self-support, and various other trades also could be learned” (FE 322). Indeed the Foundation has been blessed by the agriculture; it has been sustaining the missionaries in the self-supporting ministry as well as in the daily meals. Most of the vegetables that the students and staff are consuming were from our very own organic plants. The plants not only benefit the school but also our friends from the nearby baranggays. Through this ministry, more people were encouraged to eat vegetables than meat. It has reached the Baranggay Captain as well as some people working in the local municipal office. This has been another entering wedge for us who are looking for souls to be lead to the Savior.
One special thing about our agriculture is that it is 100% organic, without any harmful chemicals from other sources. About a few months ago, the vermiculture was introduced to our agriculture by a former trainee of the one month school. The vermi (a kind of worm) and its cast were used as the organic fertilizer. It is placed on the vermi beds with all our compost. While the worm eats up all the garbage, it also takes with them the foul odor. This has been a blessing to us and also to others who are buying our organic vegetables. We want to be as close to the original as possible with the guidance of the Almighty. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to impress us as to what we still need to improve. Instead of spraying, we do the praying.
The weather has been dry for over 3 months, but still, we praise the Lord because He never fails. Our vegetables are still sustained by the Creator of all. What we have now is only because of the power of the One who makes the sun to rise and the rains to pour. Thankfully, we have a very good supply of bitter gourd, lettuce, string beans and other vegetables together with the pineapples which now bears fruit after a year of waiting.

Blessings in Following God's Plan
Picture of our simple classroom in Nueva Era
All over the land are people with sicknesses and disease that longs for healing and restoration of health. Since the foundation (BWF) has moved in it's present location - Nueva Era and the school was set up, patients have been coming over for treatment and solicit prayers. Many have been blessed and have seen the Lord's hand touching their sick bodies. As the years had passed by, more and more people are hearing about these "Natural Remedies" and the Saviour's way of healing and are being led by the Holy Spirit to the medical missionaries. Some of them were met by the volunteer jeepney drivers as their passengers, some during the church visitation, house to house visitations and pandesal ministry, some just heard from their neighbors, and others met in various ways.
As the Lord leads so we move. The foundation has been planning and praying for a small sanitarium in close proximity with the school. As stated from "The Madison School p.11" "I have been instructed that there are decided advantages to be gained by the establishments of a school and a sanitarium in close proximity, that they may be a help to one another". God has been revealing His will through this providences. A fellow believer donated 5 thousand pesos for the building, recently, our volunteer nurses just passed their board exams, and the latest blessings is that the Northern Luzon Adventist College (NLAC) is giving us 8 hospital beds and soon will be brought to our place. For us God is speaking to us three important messages from these providences that have happened. First, God says, I will provide for the building materials. second, I have the sanitarium personnel ready, and lastly, I will provide you the hospital equipments that you will be needing. The foundation believes that the Lord is already preparing His workers for the sanitarium although the structure is not yet visible and He is now calling His people one by one as He sees them ready.
Our sanitariums are one of the most successful means of reaching all classes of people, our sanitariums are the right hand of the gospel, opening doors whereby suffering humanity may be reached with the good tidings of healing through Christ. (CH212)
Our sanitariums are to be established for one object, the advancement of present truth. And they are to be so conducted that a decided impression in favor for the truth will be made on the minds of those who come to them for treatment. (7T p.97)
Our dear brothers and sisters, we are appealing that you help us in praying to the Almighty God that He will provide all the needed fundings for this structure that God is setting that His name will be lifted up and be glorified.
thanks a lot,
the Better Way Foundation
